It’s Official…I Live In the ‘Burbs

March 16, 2010

A few months back, Ali and I moved out of SF to our dream house in the burbs - we would have preferred to stay in the city but neither of us wanted to live in a shack - so we went out to the ‘burbs.  There are things I miss about the city but every time I come home, I look around and realize that I love our new home and I’m happy where we are.

The other day, I received something in the mail that hammered home our new status as suburbanites.  No, it wasn’t the penny saver - though I hadn’t seen one in a long time.  What really hit home for me was receiving the Harriet Carter catalog.  The only other place I’ve seen this catalog is at my grandmother’s house on Long Island.  As long as I could remember, whenever I was there I would look through the catalog and make fun of half the stuff in there.  If you’re not familiar, Harriet Carter sells everything you don’t need - whether it’s for your home or health related - they have everything you have never imagined.  I must say, the catalog is very entertaining.

I went through the catalog to have a little laugh and I came across some stuff that made me wonder - WHO BUYS THIS STUFF???????  If you have any insight, or know anyone that has purchased these items, I need to hear about it.  Ok, thanks.
