Top 5 TV Shows I’m Watching Now

July 23, 2010

No, I’m not trying to do my top 5 shows of all time because that would be way too hard. This list is subject to change from month to month but this is what has my eyes fixed on the screen for now.  Drumroll please…
5. Real Housewives of New Jersey – It’s like watching a car accident.  This is a total guilty pleasure and I hate to admit that I need to know what happens with these ridiculous low class women.  I can actually feel my brain dying as I watch this show – yet I continue to watch.

4. Hung – The premise is hilarious and a great cast brings it all together.  It’s unlike anything else on television and is entertaining.  Oh, and it’s right after my #2 choice so I always end up watching.

3. Top Chef - I love food and I like watching people make fancy food.  I eat vicariously through the judges each week.  Plus it’s a competition so there’s the drama and suspense of not knowing who will be the next to go.

2. True Blood – I’m addicted.  I love True Blood.  I’ve been fascinated by vampires since I met The Count on Sesame Street.  Then there was The Lost Boys and Steven King’s Salem’s Lot.  Now, I tune in to True Blood.  It’s borderline kitschy and ridiculous but I love it.  When each episode ends I’m very disappointed that I need to wait another week to find out what happens next.  I suppose I could read the books but I prefer to watch.

1. Chelsea Lately – I tune in every night consistently and laugh my ass off.  Chelsea Handler will say exactly what’s on her mind – there’s no holding back with her.  And what about her sidekick Chuy? He can do no wrong.  This unlikely duo together with the comedic panel make this show my number one.

Mobile Office Part II

JFK to SFO

Sorry these photos are late but I hit the ground running and realized I never go these up and thought the window pic was too pretty to not let you see it.

Last week I flew back to San Francisco from New York and I pretty much do the same thing on planes as I do on the ground…work. My laptop goes where ever I go and 35,000 feet up in the air is as good as any other place to put my thinking cap on and get some work done.

I flew Jet Blue and forgot my noise canceling headphones at home – gigantic bummer – especially when all the crying infants on the plane are always within 5 seats of me. I was going to go headphone-less until I realized that there was a new episode (and re-run marathon) of the Real Housewives of New Jersey. That show is crack. It just bums me out that most of those women are American-Italian. They are giving the rest of us a bad name…
