I’m in NY for Fashion Week – it’s my first business-related trip since having the Tiny Dancer. I’m taking baby steps back into events since the Tiny Dancer is still well, tiny.

Yesterday I went to the Evolving Influence Conference hosted by Jennine/Independent Fashion Bloggers. Jennine is one of the first bloggers I met – we met a few years back at the press preview for the Nan Kempner exhibit at the DeYoung Museum in San Francisco. Since then her blog has become huge (the-coveted.net) and she founded Independent Fashion Bloggers and single-handedly created a community of fashion bloggers. It was great to see the conference grow from the upstairs of a restaurant (4 conferences ago) to Milk Studios – an epicenter of NY Fashion Week. After a full day of informative panel discussions, I went downtown to see RETNA‘s first solo show in NY.
RETNA’s first stop of The Hallelujah World Tour is in NY and I have to say, it was one of the best art openings I’ve attended. The pieces were magnificent and all featured his signature style. My favorites were sculptures or had sculptural elements (paintings with raised portions). I took lots of photos and you can learn more about the exhibit on MISS.
Off to another day of appointments so I’ll be back with more later. Be sure to follow @missgdk @missomnimedia @susanZanthony and @absquatulation for updates from NY.
