Mobile Office Part II

JFK to SFO

Sorry these photos are late but I hit the ground running and realized I never go these up and thought the window pic was too pretty to not let you see it.

Last week I flew back to San Francisco from New York and I pretty much do the same thing on planes as I do on the ground…work. My laptop goes where ever I go and 35,000 feet up in the air is as good as any other place to put my thinking cap on and get some work done.

I flew Jet Blue and forgot my noise canceling headphones at home – gigantic bummer – especially when all the crying infants on the plane are always within 5 seats of me. I was going to go headphone-less until I realized that there was a new episode (and re-run marathon) of the Real Housewives of New Jersey. That show is crack. It just bums me out that most of those women are American-Italian. They are giving the rest of us a bad name…

Sentimental Moments at SFO

Ali dropped me off at SFO last night for my trip to NY and the sky was gorgeous and he had to capture the moment on film.  I always get nostalgic at SFO because that’s where Ali proposed to me on January 1, 2002.  It was the day that I left NY and went out to San Francisco to look for apartments so that I could be closer to Ali (he was living in SF at the time).  He greeted me in the airport lobby and as we walked to the baggage claim he handed me my horoscope for the day which said something to the effect of “You’re going to get a special gift today.”  As we waited at the baggage claim, he took out a box and asked me to marry him.  I was in complete awe, and I don’t think I answered for a good 10 minutes because I was in complete shock – but I think he knew the answer (though he said those 10 minutes were pretty rough).  It’s a moment that I look back on fondly very often, and always when I am at any airport.  It feels wonderful knowing that whereever I’m going, or coming from, there’s someone at home that loves me as much as I love him.
