Lost & Found: Vintage Pinup Calendars

November 2, 2010

It’s been almost a year since we moved into our house, I can’t believe how quickly time flies!  I’ve been meaning to get this post soon after we moved but things like unpacking, settling in and having a baby took priority.

For the most part, the house was empty when we bought it.  The previous owners did leave a few things – mostly stuff to trash – except for one thing.  Ali was digging around the garage and he found a collection of vintage pinup calendars. They’re promotional calendars from 1962 and 1963 for the Neely Enterprises, a company that apparently did sales and service for Hewlett-Packard.

I’ve always loved pinup art so these calendars are especially awesome to me.  It’s refreshing to see illustrations of sexy ladies that are tasteful compared to all the T&A we’re bombarded with on a daily basis in life and in media.  Though racy, the pinups are still classy.  I think ladies today could learn a little from the pinups.

Anyway, enough of my preaching, check out the cards…and for a closeup of one, check out the Halloween post below.
